Typography and Graphic Design
Students explored text as a visual means of communication in an historical context. Starting with handwriting, they used drawing, engraving, and digital media to create compositions with the text. Although images were included, the focus was on the text as image. The students kept a sketchbook to develop ideas and maintain a record of their thought processes throughout the course.
